Some of the banks like Wells Fargo have some of the best cd rates. After looking today at the cd interest rate of Wells Fargo, I realized that they were not as high as I thought. The breakdown was not to pleasant for the certificate of deposit rates that they were offering. Being as big of a bank as they are I would have thought otherwise.

Looking at the current slump in some interest rates makes me look elsewhere and it should move you to do your shopping around. Getting three fives so to speak would be nice. What am I talking about? Well here is a break down of the cd rates that are currently being offered by Wells Fargo. The first is for 5 months at not 5.00% APY but currently 4.35%. And the minimum amount is $5000 dollars. A little too little. But then again the best cd rates are not in the most obvious places.

It may be time to lake a deeper look at the cd rates of online banking. Sometimes they are a lot better than others. You may try taking a look and see who of the online players has the best cd rates.
